CEBUANO gearheads and off-roaders alike are in for a massive treat this weekend as the Maxxis 4×4 Cup Extreme Off Road Challenge makes its final stop of the year here in Cebu City.
A platoon of off-track 4x4s and their respective drivers are expected to troop to Cebu and compete against one another in a grueling track that features mud pits and mud mounds in what is expected to be an exciting display of power and precision.
Already in its second year, the two-day event dubbed as the Tough Truck Challenge started earlier this year in Laoag City before proceeding to other locales such as Davao, Isabela, Naga, Tarlac and Dumaguete City. The Cebu leg is the culmination of the series and will have two race categories – extreme open-class and novice/stock category.
With drivers and off-road enthusiasts coming to witness this adrenaline-pumping event, organizers will also be awarding the highly-coveted “Driver of the Year” and “Constructor of the Year” plums.
The race is backed by Maxxis, a leading global tire company that exports its products ranging from motorcycle, truck, car and industrial vehicles’ tires to over 180 countries. The company has a strong presence in the US, Europe, Canada, Australia and across Asia. In the Philippines, Maxxis’ authorized distributor is North Trend Marketing Corporation, a Cebu-based company with satellites, and warehouses in Davao, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Tacloban and Iloilo.
