Cebu is a nurturing haven for local artists and performers. The level of creativity and showmanship that Cebu’s local art scene has shown over the years is nothing short of world-class.
Having originally cultivated its roots in Cebu, Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) sees Galleria Cebu as the perfect avenue to highlight the best that Cebu’s talented artists and performers could offer. This December alone, Robinsons Galleria Cebu is replete with arts-related events and activities that enthusiasts and the general audience alike will appreciate and be in awe of.
In line with the holiday season, the Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc. is hosting “A Season of Giving,” an interdisciplinary art exhibit of the Literary and Visual Arts, on December 18. In this exhibit, twelve visual artists will interpret on canvas the creative works of seven poets on the meaning of giving, especially on Christmas. The program will be emceed by acclaimed broadcaster and visual artist Dante Luzon, and will feature musical performances from Luzon himself and a White Christmas pas de deux by Jeffrey Tapang and Sabrina Bogard, senior dancers of Cebu Centre for Dance.
From December 14 to 27, the Holistic Coalition of the Willing (HoliCow) is showcasing its gallery-store that boasts of the company’s ingenious and innovative artisanal works. HoliCow is a group of furniture and houseware designers and manufacturers whose handmade pieces promote sustainability, quality, uniqueness, and adherence to world standards. Its exhibit at Robinsons Galleria Cebu intends to further uphold and elevate everything Cebuano.
Other notable events to look forward to at Galleria Cebu this month are: A Literary Celebration from the Women In Literary Arts, Inc. on December 14; a dancesport program on December 17; a 40-string ensemble performances by the Visayas Symphony Orchestra on December 22; and the Volkswagen Classic Cars exhibit from December 14 to 17.
“This is only the beginning,” said Floramie Vega, Regional Operations Manager of RLC. “Galleria Cebu is a patron of the Arts and it will always be there to support Cebu’s local art scene.”
Located along General Maxilom Avenue, Robinsons Galleria Cebu is the biggest Robinsons mall outside Metro Manila. It is envisioned to transcend its appeal as a lifestyle destination by providing a center for artistic expression and cultural exchange, for Cebu and all its neighboring regions.
