Mandaue hospital soon to have new equipment

THE Mandaue City Hospital will soon have  new equipment after Cebu 1st district Rep. Luigi Quisumbing facilitated with the Department of Health (DOH) the release of  P10 million to improve the medical facilities of the  hospital.

“We are coordinating with the DOH to release the P10 million for the purchase of a fully-automated blood chemistry analyzer, audiometer, plasma sterilizer, (blood pressure) apparatus, cardiac or patient monitors, pediatric cribs, mechanical beds and delivery tables, among other facilities for the hospital,” said Quisumbing.

Quisumbing also said that many of the hospital’s  beds and pediatric cribs are rusty and need to be replaced.

“The demand for affordable and accessible healthcare is on the rise, thus the need to upgrade the hospital’s facilities for effective delivery of medical services to the increasing population in our district,” said Quisumbing.

He thanked the DOH for its commitment to the Mandaue City Hospital and its continuing mission to provide better health services to the people.

Ma. Lourdes Espinosa, chief of Mandaue City Hospital, said these hospital equipment are needed for better patient management.

She said a blood chemistry analyzer, audiometer and autoclave or plasma sterilizer are needed to get accurate clinical laboratory results.
