THE FORMER national champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles remained in a class all on their own as they soundly beat the Abellana National School (ANS), 95-50, in the continuation of the Cebu leg of the 2014 SeaOil National Basketball Training Center last Sunday at the University of San Jose-Recoletos gym in Basak.
The writing was clearly on the wall early on as the Eagles zoomed off to a 28-15 lead after the opening 10 minutes of action.
From then on, the rout was on and culminated with Philippine under-16 team member Arnie Padilla leading the way with 16 points. Zach Huang and Jair Igna also chipped in 11 markers each.
SHS-AdC’s main rivals, the University of the Visayas (UV) and the University of San Carlos (USC) refused to be outdone as they also registered lopsided wins over their respective opponents.
USC bludgeoned USJ-R, 86-51, while UV got past Don Bosco, 68-52.
