Drag Wars 2016 series classification, practice runs today

MOTORSPORTS enthusiasts gear up for rubber-burning action as the Drag Wars 2016 revs off at the  South Road Properties (SRP) Baywalk in Cebu City.

The two-day drag racing event will be featuring top street racers from Cebu and neighboring cities such as Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Dumaguete.

Practice runs and the classification stage to determine the entries for the different categories will be held starting at 8 a.m. today while race proper will be tomorrow.

The featured categories are the pro class, expert class, sportsman class and the hot street class.

Among the top Cebuano racers joining this race are: Lord Seno, Jed Neri, Trunx Adarna, Ian Borromeo, Jong King, Bobby Pangilinan, Vincent Navales, Alfred Yap and Ferdie Chua.

The different Cebu teams that will be fielding in entries are Group B, ACR, Dub City, Toyota Auto Club Cebu, Oldschool Cebu, NCR, Northbound, DSM, AMO and Classic Autoworx.

Spearheading the event are Michael Francis Calo Mercado, Ron Sanchez and Ronald Mijares of the Cebu Horsepower Events and Promotions (CHEAP) and Brian Yuson and Arvin Abing of PBA Publishing.
