200-strong Niños vie in National PNG

AROUND 200 delegates representing the Cebu City Niños start their campaign in the week-long 2015 Philippine National Games (PNG)  today in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

The Niños will compete in 13 sporting events including  athletics, swimming, dancesport, weightlifting, badminton, lawn tennis, chess, arnis, karatedo, taekwondo, boxing, muay thai and pencak silat.

University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters athletics chief and Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) official Bernard Ricablanca will lead the Cebu City Niños delegation in the meet.

Most of the athletes competing for the Niños are from Cebu’s top performing schools in sports such as UC, University of San Carlos (USC), University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), Southwestern University (SWU) and University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F). There are also some coming from Cebu City’s public high schools.
