A FORMER employee of the University of the Philippines-Cebu (UP Cebu) is facing trial for allegedly stealing some school gadgets last May 2015, which amounted to P654,000.
The Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office found sufficient basis to indict Enrique Dy on charges of qualified theft.
Prosecutor Rhodna Alcala-Bacatan said in her resolution that the circumstances showed the respondent abused the confidence UP Cebu placed on him.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by UP Cebu Dean Liza Corro against Dy, who used to be the laboratory technician at UP Cebu’s Computer Science Department.
When confronted by the school’s representatives, Dy admitted that he stole the items and hocked them to a pawnshop.
