TRIPLE THREAT

The former stalwarts of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) on the Batang Gilas Pilipinas continued to shine on the international stage as they all played key roles in a 133-52 shellacking of Laos in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) Under-18 Championship on Sunday night at the Angkasapura Lanud Hall in Medan, Indonesia.

The win was the national team’s second in a row after blasting Thailand, 101-45, in their opening game on Saturday.

Theo Joshua Flores, the former University of the Visayas Baby Lancer, flirted with a rare triple-double with 19 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

Joshua Sinclair, the Filipino-Australian ace from Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, scored 18 points and pulled down seven boards, continuing his fine play after tallying a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds against Thailand.

The third Cebuano on the team, JB Bahio, had 12 markers, eight rebounds and three assists.

The Batang Gilas was still taking on Malaysia as of press time and continue their elimination round campaign with a match against Singapore today.
