ORMOC City’s pride, John Riel “Cuadro Alas” Casimero ups his training for his much-awaited rematch against Thai IBF world flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng this May 25 in Beijing, China.
According to reports in Philboxing.com, Casimero (21-3, 13KOs) is currently training at the Yraola Boxing Gym in Quezon City.
He was able to spar with quality boxers like WBO Oriental Jr. Flyweight Champion Jesse Espinas and PBF Featherweight Champion Jessie Cris Rosales during training.
Casimero is being trained by veteran boxing trainer Jhun Agrabio.
Casimero is hungry to avenge his controversial loss to the unbeaten Ruenroeng (17-0, 5KOs) last year in Thailand.
After that loss, Casimero continued training to prepare for a rematch against Ruenroeng as the IBF’s governing body allowed Casimero to retain his number-one spot or the rights of being the mandatory challenger for the IBF world flyweight strap.
Odds favor Casimero considering that the fight will be held in neutral ground, compared to last year where it was held in Bangkok, Thailand, Ruenroeng’s home turf.
