Voters in precinct cluster #294 in Abellana School, barangay Sambag 2 were asked if they want to proceed with voting or wait until their assigned vote counting machine (VCM) is repaired.
Those who agreed to continue will just leave their filled out ballot to the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) who will feed the ballots to the machine once it’s repaired, said C-Cimpel poll watcher Daniel Ylanan Jr. who is assigned to precinct cluster #294.
He said this will allow the voters to leave early but this means the voter can’t check his or her vote receipt anymore. Those who were amenable to this were made to sign a waiver.
Those who don’t agree will have to wait until the VCM is repaired. The VCM in precinct cluster #294 first bogged down at 8:40 am and was repaired at 9:39 am.
Between that time, 31 voters agreed to leave their filled out ballots to the BEI.
At 10:45 am, the VCM bogged down again. It still has not been repaired as of past noon. From 10:45 am until now, another 43 voters signed the waiver to leave their ballots.
The 31 ballots earlier were already fed before the VCM bogged down for the second time.
As of 12:40 pm, the contingency VCM for precinct cluster #294 has arrived.
