The defending champions Golden State Warriors got badly beaten by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 133-105, in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma.
Kevin Durant had 33 points while Russel Westbrook added 30 as the Thunder now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
Reigning MVP Steph Curry led the Warriors, who finished the regular season as the top ranked team with a NBA record 73-9 standing, with 24 points. The other half of the ‘Splash Brothers’ Klay Thompson chipped in 18.
The score was tied at 40 apiece with eight minutes left in the second but from that moment until the end of the third, Oklahoma pulled off a 77-40 run that virtually sealed the lopsided win.
Four other Thunder scored in twin digits led by Serge Ibaka’s 14. The others were Andre Roberson (13), Dion Waiters (13) and Enes Kanter (10).
