The Cebu Provincial Capitol distributed P4.3 million worth of agri-machineries to different farmers associations in Cebu Thursday morning at the Capitol grounds.

The agri-machineries and equipment include 20 corn mills, 15 units of outdoor storage (Hermetic Cocoon), 15 moisture meters and 10 weighing scales.

Provincial Agriculturist Roldan Saragena said 20 farmers organizations ang beneficiaries in 20 different towns in Cebu will benefit from the equipment.

“First, we had to consider the area. There has to be production of corn in their area. We also took into consideration farmers associations that are active and interested,” Saragena said when asked how they identified the beneficiaries.

In a speech, Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III said his administration will continue supporting initiatives and programs for farmers in the province.
