TWO brand new Isuzu MUX were issued for Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
The vehicles were turned over to the Capitol on Tuesday morning. Davide will get the brown Isuzu while Magpale gets a white one.
Jone Sepe, Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), said they processed the acquisition of the vehicles since last year. He said Davide’s old vehicle, a Nissan Patrol Super Safari, has been conking out during his trips to different towns.
Sepe said Magpale has been using her personal van in her trips since the province-issued vehicle assigned to her is already unserviceable.
“Our executives don’t have vehicles they can use anymore. So we need to provide them with vehicles since it’s the entire province they’re governing,” Sepe told reporters.
Sepe said they’ve been planning the vehicle purchase in 2015 and the first bidding was declared a failure. It was rebidded and Isuzu won the contract for the vehicles before the May 9 elections this year.
Sepe said they had to move back the awarding of the contract due to the election ban.
