No work, no classes in Lapu-Lapu as city celebrates Charter Day

THERE will be no work and no classes in Lapu-Lapu City today as the city celebrates its 55th Charter Day anniversary.

Lapu-Lapu City government employees will also receive a P3,000 anniversary bonus to mark the day.

In connection with the Charter Day celebration, all government regular employees, casual employees and elected officials will receive P3,000 as anniversary bonus, said Elena Catag-Catag, the city treasurer.

The Lapu-Lapu City government will also mark the day with a simple program at the City Hall grounds which will be attended by government employees.

Mayor Paz Radaza and Rep. Aileen Radaza, Lapu-Lapu City congressional representative, will give their messages during the program.

Proclamation No. 1286 released by Malacañang Palace in May 25, 2016 declared a special non-working day in the city of Lapu-Lapu which marks its 55th Charter Day anniversary on Friday, June 17, 2016. This was signed by Paquito Ochoa, executive secretary, by the authority of President Benigno S. Aguino III.
