Starting next year, the Visayan Electric Company (VECO) will no longer accept payments in its branches.

Jill Verallo, VECO Reputation Enhancement head, said that customers will pay their bills through their Third Party Agents (TPAs) as their branches will focus on offering other services to their customers like applications for new line connections and reconnections, among others.

Verallo said the utility’s TPAs accept payment in full or partial or for Red Bill or bills due for disconnection.

Payments made through the TPAs are posted on the same day without charging additional service charges fees.

There are currently 14 TPAs including Bayad Center, Cebuana Lhuillier, M Lhuiller, 2GO, ECPay, SM Hypermarket, SM Department Store, Savemore Market, SM Business Services as well as banks: BDO, Metrobank, Bank of Commerce, RCBC, Unionbank.

Customers may also pay online through Bancnet, Unionbank, and Metrobank or through CitiBank and Unionbank’s debit/credit scheme.

Verallo said that some of their TPAs open as early as 8 a.m.

Anton Mari Perdices, VECO chief operating officer, said VECO offers multiple alternatives for bill payments because they don’t want their customers to wait in line at service centers for 30 minutes.

Perdices said their plan was to have their customers access and pay their bills electronically.
