7 nabbed in drug bust

SEVEN persons allegedly involved in illegal drug trade were arrested in separate police operations in Cebu last Wednesday.

In Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City, three persons were arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs believed to be shabu.

Oscar Valiente, 55; Gilbert Amit, 36; and Adrian Aparri, 32; all residents of Sitio Abuno, Barangay Pajac, are now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City jail pending the filing of charges against them.

Police confiscated from them suspected shabu worth P133,340 based on Dangerous Drugs Board value, P1,000 buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia and P2,000 cash believed to be their sales proceeds.

In Barangay Campo, San Francisco town in Camotes Island, illegal drugs worth around P200,000 were confiscated from two suspected drug pushers Menelio Donaire, 55, and his cohort Joel Miao, 28, around 4 p.m. last Wednesday.

During the buy-bust operation, the town’s policemen led by Insp. Philip John Libres bought P200 worth of alleged shabu from Donaire and Miao.

Confiscated from Donaire were two big packs and eight small sachets containing illegal drugs believed to be shabu worth P152,220 and the P200 marked money.

In Barangay Hampang, Argao town in southern Cebu, live-in partners Ronnie Puerto Zamora, 38, and Rea delos Reyes Hugo, 35, were also arrested during a buy-bust operation around 9 p.m. last Wednesday.
