BARANGAYS Guadalupe and Punta Princessa each bagged two gold medals to rule the sixth leg of the Cebu City Sports Commission’s (CCSC) weekly barangay dancesport circuit competition yesterday at Lahug Elementary School.

Guadalupe’s Onie Rick Caballes and Winrose Villarma dominated the College Youth Latin Open and Close dances to book a seat in the Grand Finale slated July 31 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Punta Princessa’s pair of Jaydel and Delia Pat also swayed their way to victory as they ruled Both Parents Latin event while Blaire Esmero and Agela Marie Gilstrap topped the Juvenile Latin Close category.

“All our sacrifices paid off today, thanks to my kids,” Gadalupe coach Richard Sabanal said.

Sabanal’s team also won gold in last week’s leg which was hosted by Guadalupe.

Also making it to the grand finale is the tandem of Honey Bacalla and Daves Espinosa from Barangay Zapatera after they won the Junior Latin Open dance.

Tejero’s Clarence Regis and Mary Lorraine Cueva also brought pride by landing first place in the Junior Latin Close category.

The seventh leg will be held on Saturday in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Winners in the finale will have the chance to be a part of the Dancesports Team Cebu City (DTCC) which will compete in the International Dancesport Competition on Sept. 10 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.

Participants in the weekly tournament are products of CCSC’s Summer Grassroots Program.
