Cebuano engineer is PRC’s best

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has awarded a Cebuano as the “Most Outstanding Mechanical Engineer” in its 43rd anniversary held at the Manila Hotel last June 22.

According to PRC, Engr. Vicente Booc Vosotros, has “Exemplified outstanding professional competence and integrity” in his profession.

For 40 years, he worked as consultant, designer, fabricator and installer for various industries like power plants, telecommunications, petroleum, mining, food and furniture companies.

He was a national president for Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) in 2007; 2008 PSME Fellow Awardee and 2014 Tomas P. Marcelo Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awardee for his immense contributions to Rotary Club of Cebu West and Cebu Toastmasters Club.

The award was presented by PRC Chair Teofilo Pilando Jr. and Commissioners Angelina Chua Chiaco and Yolanda Reyes at the Manila Hotel.

Former Senate President Manuel Villar Jr., who was a 1999 awardee in Accountancy, was the keynote speaker. He urged the 36 awardees in various fields to participate in improving the lives of Filipinos.

Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman was awarded Outstanding Social Worker.

Engr. Lino Diamante, president, SWEEP Foundation Inc., said that Vosotros’ award and invaluable contribution to the Filipinos and to the profession should inspire students to take up engineering or other technical courses. Incidentally, he is inviting project owners/managers, designers, mechanical and other engineers to join the PSME Regional Conference from July 21 to 23 at Sarabia Manor Hotel in Iloilo City.
