WITH the control of PHIMNA over Southwestern University (SWU), the organization is geared towards making their vision a reality, of making lives better.
SWU-PHINMA executives Ramon Del Rosario Jr, Chito Salazar, and Magadaleno Albaraccin mentioned the key priorities of the organization include the standardization of education curriculum and renovation of infrastructure. They want to prioritize the renovation of classrooms and hospitals to provide better facilities and equipment for students.
In terms of curriculum, they will be reviewing the current courses to ensure that what they have will be in tune with the needs of the industry while helping their graduates be ready for employment.
According to PHINMA President and Chief Executive Officer Ramon Del Rosario Jr., the organization wil be able to bring in best practices to Southwestern University, due to their experience in managing various institutions in key areas like Cagayan, Dagupan, Iloilo, Cabanatuan. “Our aim is to fully strengthen SWU’s core program which is medicine and continue to produce quality students. We are also working on improving the university’s board passing rate, said
del Rosario.”
Meanwhile, PHINMA also prides itself as being an institution that is professionally run and provides above industry pay to teachers. “We provide a good pay to teachers and we even give recognitions to them for good performance. We also send them to different trainings even abroad to widen the knowledge that they could impart to their students,” Salazar shared.
Other than medicine they want to be known also to be a leading institution for Medtech, Pharmacy, and Dentistry. They are also looking into exploring new courses like engineering and architecture and strengthen health science courses.
They university recently unveiled their new logo bearing the name Southwestern University-PHINMA. The name of their hospital will also be rebranded as Southwestern Medical Center. The infrastructure renovation is expected to start by July. /PR
