Gullas: Free healthcare for senior citizens, PWDs

TALISAY City Mayor Eduardo Gullas promised better services to his constituents through the delivery of free healthcare to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) while also bringing in more investments and infrastructure development to the city.

Speaking before over a hundred people who witnessed his inaugural address, Gullas presented his administration’s seven-point priorities that he would like to implement during his stint.

Among the priorities he mentioned was the crafting of a city development plan or program which would lay out short-term and long-term plans for the city.

One of the long-term plans he mentioned include the development of the former Talisay City fish port into an international port that can accommodate cruise ships.

Aside from that, Gullas mentioned more infrastructure development which include the construction of a new Tabunok Public Market, the conversion of the Lagtang public market into a Tesda technical-vocational training center, solving traffic and the electrification of the 412 sitios in the city.

Gullas took his oath as mayor at past 9:30 a.m. yesterday before Barangay Captain Mary Ann Nolasco of Tapul, the barangay that gave Gullas a high number of votes in the last election.

Gullas also administered the oath of Vice Mayor Alan Bucao and the 10 city councilors.
