Pupil electrocuted near Consolacion school

A seven-year-old Grade 2 pupil died while his schoolmate is in critical condition after they accidentally touched a grounded electricity pole of the Visayan Electric Co. (Veco) Tuesday in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Kirby Tariman while the injured was Wilfred Bordario, 9.

Tariman died before reaching the hospital while Bordario, who sustained severe burns, remains confined at the Eversley Sanitarium in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.

Police said the two victims were playing near the Sacsac Elementary School during their noon break when they accidentally held onto the electric pole.

A man who saw the incident pulled them from the pole by holding on to Bordario’s shirt.
