ABOUT 102 self-confessed drug users and pushers surrendered to the San Fernando municipal police Thursday.
Chief Insp. Richard Gadingan, San Fernando police chief, said 99 of them have surrendered early morning while three more surrendered in the afternoon.
Though there was 120 drug pushers and users who committed to surrender in their list, only 99 were recorded. Gadingan said most of those who surrendered were drug users from barangays Pitalo, San Isidro, Balud and Sangat.
The surrender is the result of the ongoing Oplan TokHang campaign in which the houses of suspected users and dealers were visited by police.
Those who surrendered were made to sign an affidavit and were asked to submit their resume for profiling. Gadingan said none of them were in the San Fernando police watchlist.
Gadingan said most of those who are in their watchlist left San Fernando town.
“But we won’t be content with Oplan TokHang. We have a major operation for those still stubborn enough not to surrender,” Gadingan said.
One of those who surrendered Wednesday yielded two small packs of shabu worth P800.
