Two persons were arrested by Mactan police in relation to this week’s robbery of a Cebuana Lhullier pawnshop in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City at 2 p.m. Thursday.

The suspects identified as 35-year-old Philam Camingawan of Humay-Humay, Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City and 24-year-old Romnick Jumao-as, a resident of Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City were arrested in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion town.

Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad said the cell phone owned by a certain businessman named Alex Ong showed a video of the pawnshop and other businesses that the robbers victimized.

Manatad said Ong reportedly admitted to his involvement and agreed to cooperate with police in setting up a meeting with Camingawan and Jumao-as that led to their arrest.

Ong was arrested after being identified by the pawnshop’s security guard and manager.

Both Camingawan and Jumao-as were positively identified as the people responsible for the robbery of Bingo Boutique in Basak, Lapu-Lapu a couple of weeks ago.

They were also accused of robbing a liempo (roasted meat) house in Barangay Pajo, a pawnshop in Bogo City and some establishments in Surigao province.

One cohort identified only as a certain “Melio” was supposedly the person that Camingawan and Jumao-as contacted to meet with Ong.
