LAPU-LAPU City Councilor Harry Don Radaza laughed off allegations that he went into hiding due to his involvement in illegal drug trade.

In his Facebook account, Councilor Radaza called on those accusing him to stop, saying the allegation is politically motivated.

Sa una pa man ko nakadungog ani panahon sa tingkampanya sa eleksyon. Pulos lang gyud ni pangdaot sa akong pagkatawo (I’ve heard of this before during the election campaign. They’re just maligning my person),” Radaza said.

Radaza said he heard from friends in Facebook about a radio station that claimed that he went into hiding in the US when drug personalities started to surrender to the police since June 30.

Radaza said he was in his home in Barangay Maribago and posted a photo of him with Councilor Gregorio Paquibot Jr. while attending a flag ceremony at Lapu-Lapu City Hall grounds yesterday morning on his Facebook account.

“Even if you check with the Bureau of Immigration, I don’t have a record there that I went to the US,” he said.

Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad, Mactan police precinct chief, said Councilor Radaza is not on their watch list.

He said those who surrendered during Oplan TokHang mentioned the councilor’s name, but they have no evidence to prove their allegations.
