Hundreds gather at SM Savemore Carcar to avail of free medical services. Contributed
MORE than 600 residents from different barangays in Carcar City, southern Cebu have benefited from the medical and dental mission of SM Foundation Inc. in SM Savemore Carcar.
The Gamot Para Sa Kapwa was in partnership with SM Savemore, Cebu Medical Society, Philippine Red Cross – Cebu Chapter, Carcar City Health Office and the Philippine Army.
The mission was aimed at helping indigent families by providing basic health services.
These services include medical checkup and treatment, dental check-up, blood pressure checkup, ECG and X-ray. Apart from the medical services, free medicines for common illnesses and vitamins were also distributed to the patients.
Through the SM Foundation, the SM Group of Companies has been able to help the less fortunate in communities it serves by supporting their needs in education through college and technical-vocational scholarship programs and donation of public school buildings; health through medical missions and construction of wellness and health centers; community development through various livelihood trainings, greening projects, spiritual development and immediate disaster response/initiatives; and, care for the environment and for persons with special needs like those with disabilities, children, nursing mothers, the elderly and overseas Filipino workers, among others.
