AFTER five Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (Penro) enforcers were dismissed last July 1 for alleged extortion activities, five more were being investigated also for the same allegation.
Penro head Baltazar Tribunalo said in an interview yesterday that the five other Penro enforcers, however, would be given a chance to stay on because the offense they committed was lighter in gravity than the first batch of five enforcers, who were sacked.
Tribunalo said he was withholding the names as requested by the investigated enforcers.
He said they were also warned of getting fired if they commit another mistake.
Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III earlier ordered an investigation on the Penro enforcers after he received reports that they were allegedly using his name in their extortion activities./USJ-R Intern Dafne N. Wenceslao
