Mother visiting detained son nabbed for shabu
CEBU CITY, Philippines— A 51-year-old mother who was about to visit her detained son was arrested after authorities allegedly found a sachet of shabu hidden beneath her undergarments at the Cebu City Operation Second Chance on Monday afternoon, June 8, 2026.
The suspect, a vendor and person with disability (PWD), is a resident of Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Guadalupe Police Station, the woman was scheduled to visit her 16-year-old son, a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL), who is currently under the custody of Operation Second Chance.
However, during a routine inspection conducted by houseparents before the visit, a sachet containing suspected shabu was allegedly recovered from inside her bra.
Following the discovery, the management of Operation Second Chance immediately detained the woman and sought the assistance of the Guadalupe Police Station.
In an interview with DYSS Super Radyo GMA, the suspect claimed that she had forgotten that the sachet was inside her undergarment.

“Wa ko ka koan niadto kay hubog man gud ko gabie gud. Wa man ko kabaw nga nipilit diay sa akong bra diay,” she said.
(I didn’t realize it because I was drunk last night. I didn’t know it had gotten stuck inside my bra.)
The woman also said that the confiscated illegal drug was intended for her personal consumption.
She is expected to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
