15 houses destroyed in Talisay fire

Fifteen houses were destroyed during a fire that hit an urban poor village in Barangay San Roque, Talisay City, about 12 km south of here, on Thursday.

Randy Mendaros, fire investigator of Talisay City Fire Department, said the blaze started past 2:40 p.m. from the second floor of the house owned by Monalisa Monte in Sitio Quimba, Barangay San Roque.

He said the fire was believed to have been triggered by electrical wirings.

It was put under control at 3:23 p.m.

Mendaros said that the damage of property was estimated at P150,000.
