Man killed in road mishap in Dumanjug town

UPDATE

A 47-year-old aircon technician was killed after he was ran over by a truck after he was thrown off from his motorcycle that hit another motorcycle in Dumanjug town in southern Cebu on Thursday night.

The victim was identified as Ricky Lebumfacil Belandres, a resident of Barangay Cogon, Dumanjug, about 73 km south of here. According to PO3 Ian Joseph Arapoc, Dumanjug police desk officer, Belandres was heading to the town proper of Dumajug past 6 p.m. on board his motorcycle when it hit another motorcycle on another lane.

Belandres was thrown off from his motorcycle due to the impact of the collision. He landed on the opposite lane and was ran over by a truck that was headed to Cebu City, said Arapoc.

Belandres was rushed off to the Barili District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival (DOA).

Lope Asentista, 47, truck driver, was detained at the police station while the victim’s family had yet to decide whether or not to press charges.
