MAO BA?

SIESTA TIME

There is an office in one local government unit in Cebu where the lights are turned off from noon to 1 p.m.

That’s because this is the time when employees take a nap or have their siesta. And to think that the “no noon break” policy is being enforced there.

NO INTERVIEWS

This city official is averse to reporters who wish to interview her at past noon.

Although she can be clearly seen inside her office, her staff tells reporters to return after lunch.

The reporters can only shake their heads in dismay since other officials, even the mayor, are only too willing to be interviewed even during lunch time.

ZERO BUDGET

A councilor who wasn’t granted an allowance along with her allies had a ready response to the office in charge of issuing the allowances.

During the budget hearing, the councilor suggested in jest that the office be given a zero budget so they would suffer like her and the rest of her allies in the council.

Whether or not she and her allies will make good their warning/threat, that remains to be seen.
