NAGA City police officers shot and killed a man during in what police described as a shootout in Barangay Tuyan, Naga City last Sunday morning.

Amelito “Buwa” Alfante, of legal age, sustained gunshot wound in his chest and other parts of his body that led to his death.

P03 Michael Villarmia of Naga City Police Station said that they were about to serve a warrant of arrest on Alfante when he allegedly fired at the approaching police officers.

Villarmia said the incident happened at past 5 a.m. when the team led by Senior Insp. Adrian Nalua went to Alfante’s house in Sitio Tabtuy to serve the warrant.

But Villarmia said that as the police officers were meters away from Alfante’s house, Alfante allegedly fired at them.
He said Alfante missed and the police officers fired back killing Alfante.

Villarmia said that Alfante had two warrants of arrest from Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 55 of Judge Glenda Go and Branch 56 of Judge Jacinto Fajardo in Talisay City.

The warrants involved Alfante violating Republic Act 9165 section 5 and 11 or selling, obtaining and possession of dangerous drugs.
