Drug surrenderer shot dead in Lapu

AN UNIDENTIFIED gunman shot dead last Saturday afternoon a drug surrenderer in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Armando Nituda of Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City died after he was shot in the head, back and left arm.

PO2 Marven Saraum, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section investigator, said that the victim was having his motorcycle fixed at a motorcycle shop in Barangay Basak when two men, wearing full face helmets, arrived on a motorcycle.

The backrider got off, approached the victim and shot him four times.

Witnesses said that the gunman then went back to his waiting cohort and fled the area.

Police recovered empty shells of a 9mm pistol at the crime scene.

Saraum said that the victim had a pending case for drug possession and was a surrenderer of the Oplan Tokhang.

Saraum and his team were still conducting further investigation to determine the real motive of the incident and identify the perpetrators.
