Bandingan tops expert division

DOY Bandingan shone the brightest in the battle of seasoned daredevils as he copped the prestigious expert division crown of the 19th Ornopia Motocross Cup over the weekend in Barangay Calambua, San Remigio town, northern Cebu.

Bandigan defeated the multi-titled Jonjon Adlawan, who settled for first runner-up followed by Clark Bandingan in the competition put up by veteran organizer Lou Ornopia.

Also coming up with masterful showings were the Hisoler brothers from Bogo City.

John Hisoler ruled the local enduro while his younger brother Han topped the mini class 50CC division.

Ren Hisoler trailed John in the local enduro race followed by Clinton Gualiza. Ren had another runner-up finish in the open enduro category where he wound up third. Joey Labasano dominated the division while Gualiza ranked second.

Gualiza didn’t settle for runner-up finishes as he pocketed the underbone category title at the expense of Imok Torona and JR Gualiza.

Dongdong Batiquen won the Executive A race with Kenneth Villeta and Jonathan Cuyos settling for second and third, respectively.

The Executive C title went to Nanding Pepito, who defeated Jerry Sicad and Elton See.

Winning the Executive B title was Arnel Enriquez, who was followed by Cuyos and Jun Enriquez.

JP Cuesta was crowned champion in the intermediate race, while Erjohn Codiniera and BJ Pepito placed second and third, respectively.

Codiniera did not go home empty handed as he won the novice production event, followed by Cuesta, Labasano and Clark Codizar.

Patrick Cuesta bagged the mini class 65CC title and nearly completed a double championship after placing second to Michael Tuvilla in the mini class 85CC race.

Florence Codiniera wound up second in the mini class 65CC while Jeanette Olanda ranked third.

Terrence Codiniera placed third in the mini class 85CC.

Ayen Ledesma went home with the veterans class crown by outlasting Andrew Canlas and Allan Padica.

Clark Codizar and Joshua de Manuel joined the winner’s circle, bagging the beginner’s production and elite titles, respectively.
