THE PEOPLE behind the Gilas Pilipinas are preparing themselves for any contingency as bills were filed to naturalize current NBA players Javale McGee and Andray Blatche and make them eligible to play for the national squad.
According to a tweet that was posted by Gilas head coach Chot Reyes and a report that was posted on Interaksyon.com, House Bill 3784 was filed to naturalize McGee, a center for the Denver Nuggets while House Bill 3783 was filed to give citizenship to Blatche, a back-up forward for the Brooklyn Nets.
The bills were filed by Congressman Robbie Puno, the same person who pushed for the naturalization of current Gilas slotman Marcus Douthit.
