Bantilan, Tormis are Cetba Friday Group’s Bowlers of the Year

ROLAND Bantilan and Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) president Gretchen Tormis were named as the Cetba Friday Group Bowlers of the Year last Friday at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
Bantilan and Tormis beat their respective opponents in the step ladder match to clinch the titles in the men’s and women’s division, respectively.
Bantilan actually finished second in the qualifying round with 742 pinfalls behind Joseph Yu, who scored 810 pinfalls.
Yu had a twice to beat advantage for being the top qualifier but he was defeated by Bantilan twice, 186-227 and 216-197, in the final round to emerge champion.
Tormis beat Emi Osada, 190-172, to win the women’s crown.
