“I haven’t thought of my next tournament yet and I’ll be focusing the next few days in school,” said the petite Cebuana, who is being homeschooled via the Homeschool Global program.
Getting her mind off golf for a short while is a welcome respite for Gabasa who had to topple Pia Mariano in a hard-fought battle in the finals to hoist the title.

The top-seeded Gabasa fought it out on even terms with the second-ranked Mariano after 18 holes but claimed victory in holes 5, 6 and 8 as well as 13 and 14 to seal the ladies crown.
“Yes it was, we were both even after 18 holes and I had to play well on the next round in order to win. I’m happy to have had such an awesome week at my home course and I feel blessed to have won the tournament,” said Gabasa./dbs
