Man shot dead in Barangay Manipis remains unidentified, packs of suspected shabu recovered

CEBU CITY, Philippines— The man who was shot dead in Sitio Campo 5, Barangay Manipis Talisay City on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2020, remains unidentified.

Police Master Sergeant Renaldo Tañico, desk officer of the Talisay City Police told CDN Digital that they are still conducting follow-up investigations to identify the man and possibly establish the motive of his killing.

The police said that some witnesses told them that the shooting victim man walking along the road in a remote area of the barangay when a lone gunman alighted from a black van and shot the victim several times. The gunman went back inside the vehicle and fled as the victim fell to the ground.

According to a police report, the man, who bore four bullet wounds, was believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a blue shirt, jeans, and rubber shoes.

The shooting incident allegedly happened around 7:30 am and was reported to the Talisay City Police by some concerned citizen.

Found at the crime scene were four empty shells of still unknown caliber, four small-sized packs of suspected shabu (crystal meth), a couple of “suki” cards and withdrawal receipts.
