Talisay fire destroys school’s storage room; P72K lost

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A morning fire that gutted a storage room of a school in Barangay Lawaan 1 in Talisay City on March 8, 2021 is the third fire incident in two days in Metro Cebu.

The latest fire incident destroyed the storage room with the damage to property estimated to be at least P72,000, said Chief Inspector Arnel Abella, fire investigator of the Talisay Fire Station.

The Talisay fire incident happened at past 10 a.m. today, March 8, or 15 hours after a garments’ warehouse was razed in Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City at past 7 p.m. of March 7.

Fire investigators estimated the damage to property to the Guadalupe fire at P2 million.

No one was hurt in the fire.

At least 7 hours earlier that day or at past noon, a fire gutted a house in Barangay Tinaan, Naga City in southern Cebu.

No one was also hurt in that fire incident.

Fire investigators estimated the damage to property to the Naga City fire at P100,000.
