Noon fire destroys house in Naga; P100K in property lost

CEBU CITY, Philippines — An estimated P100,000 worth of property was lost after a noontime fire today, March 7, 2021, gutted a house in Barangay West Poblacion, Naga City in southern Cebu.

The fire that destroyed the house owned by a 75-year-old resident, Jovita Thayer, was reported at 12:28 p.m. and the firefighters arrived in the area at 12:33 p.m., according to the Naga Fire Station report.

The report also said that the fire was put out an hour later.

No one was also injured in the fire.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was the fifth fire incident this March, which is the Fire Prevention Month.

The first fire incident this month on March 4, in Sitio Lagunay, Barangay Bulacao in Cebu City resulted to the death of a 28-year-old woman, who had down syndrome, and the injury of another person.

SFO1 Novo Erana of the Cebu City Fire Department said that the casualty in the fire was Maris Bayaton while Noshua Anthony Tembravilla suffered third-degree burns in his right arm during the fire.

Erana said that the March 4 fire in Bulacao razed three houses and displaced 16 individuals.

 He said that this was reported at 3:04 p.m. and was put out on 3:29 p.m.
