Mandaue City records more than 30K damaged houses

MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — The number of damaged houses in Mandaue City has risen to over 30,000.

Based on the data from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, as reported by the City Social Welfare and Development as of 9 a.m today, December 29, 2021, 1,882 houses were totally damaged while 29,930 were partially damaged by super typhoon Odette.

Barangay Umapad has the most number of partially and fully damaged houses at 6,676.

The verification and validation of the CSWS are ongoing.

Those who will be verified will be given financial assistance, though there is no exact figure as to how much will be given.

Based on the Facebook post of the city’s Public Information Office on Wednesday afternoon, December 29, 2021, the goods bought by the city for typhoon victims have arrived.

Each pack of goods consists of 25 kilos of rice and 10 liters of drinking water.

It will be given to almost 10,000 families severely affected by the typhoon.

The city ensures that families living in slightly damaged houses will be given next.  /rcg
