CEBU CITY, Philippines—Metro Cebu will continue to experience intermittent, scattered light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains until Friday, January 13, 2023.
This is according to Pagasa-Mactan chief Engr. Al Quiblat, based on their latest available extended weather forecast as of Wednesday, January 11.
The current weather condition is caused by the shearline and a low pressure area (LPA) affecting the entire Visayas.
As of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was spotted 295 kilometers East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Quiblat, however, said there is a chance for a “slighly improved” weather on Saturday, January 14, and a “much-improved” weather on Sunday, January 15.
“Ang LPA dili pa ta ka expect nga mawala siya. Dili nato i-rule out nga mahimo siyang bagyo. Nakita nato sa atong mga models. Kung mahimo man gani siyang bagyo o dili mahilis, LPA lang gihapon, mo-change na iyang position, adto na dapit sa Eastern Portion ng Luzon. Mulayo sa atoa. Unya, mudungan pod ning pagka weaken sa shearline (on Saturday),” he said.
“Mao nay hinungdan ngano makaingon ta nga sa Saturday muayo-ayo na ang panahon, lalo na sa Sunday,” he added.
CDN Digital will continue to provide weather update a day before the Sinulog this Sunday, for a more accurate weather forecast on that day.
As of now, the expected temperature in Metro Cebu until Friday ranges between 24-29 degrees Celisus and 25-31 degrees Celsius on Saturday until Sunday.
