LOOK: Bongbong Marcos graces launch of ‘Kadiwa ng Pangulo’ in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. took a closer look at some Cebu products as we went around the different stalls at the”Kadiwa ng Pangulo” that opened at the Cebu Provincial Capitol grounds on Monday morning, Feb. 27.  He also sampled a drink that was offered by one of the sellers.

“Kadiwa ng Pangulo” is a national government program that aims to provide farmers an opportunity  to sell their produce without having to pay extra for transportation and for the packaging of their products, among others.

At the same time, the program aims to ensure that food commodities are made available and accessible in high consumer demand areas.

The “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” at the Cebu Capitol was participated by at least 50 local exhibitors.

“Patuloy naming gagawin, padadamihin natin, palalakihin natin at pararamihin natin [ang mga Kadiwa stores] lalo na sa mga lugar na hirap ang tao at hindi pa kaya ang presyuhan sa palengke,” Marcos said in a brief speech.

Marcos also announced that they will launching soon the “Kadiwa ng Manggagawa.”

“Para sila din ay magkaroon ng pagkakataon. Kaya’t binubuo natin ito, na isang malaking pagsasama ng DTI [at] DA,” he said.

In his speech, Marcos also thanked Cebuanos who voted for him and Vice President Sara Duterte in the May 2022 elections.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said in her message that the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” is one of the programs that the Cebu provincial government and the Marcos administration will work on to uplift the lives of the Cebuanos and the rest of the Filipinos.

Marcos was joined by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Tourism Secretary, Christina Frasco, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and his son, Vincent, during his Capitol visit, his first stop during his Cebu visit on Monday. | CDN Digital Intern Jessa Ngojo
