MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — A new command center was opened in Barangay Tabunok to help maintain peace and order in one of the busiest areas in Talisay City.

Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas describes the barangay’s command center as being equipped with 32 close circuit televisions (CCTVs) installed in strategic locations to allow barangay officials to “help monitor the city’s business center.”

Security strengthened

“Mas gipalig-on nga security monitoring alang sa atong mga constituents ug mubisita sa Barangay Tabunok for their own safety,” Gullas said in an advisory.

(We have strengthened our security monitoring for our constituents and to those who visit Barangay Tabunok for their own safety.)

But Gullas said that what was unveiled on Wednesday, August 23, was just phase 1 of the barangay’s new command center.  He joined barangay officials led by barangay captain Benjie Cabigas during the gathering.

“I am really happy that Tabunok was able to put up its command center. This will be a helpful addition to Tabunok’s security preparations,” he said.

Progressive barangay

“With this capability, our barangay officials can fully assist our local police in responding to crimes and other security concerns,” the mayor added.

Gullas said that with Barangay Tabunok being one of the progressive barangays in their city, “halos tanang negosyo naa gyud dinhi sa Tabunok ug maong kaning gihimo sa Barangay Officials nindot nga lakang alang sa seguridad sa tanan (most of our businesses are really here in Tabunok and that is why our barangay officials made this good move for the security of all).”
