CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Division A and Division B defending champions of the 26th season of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) flexed their might against their respective opponents in last Sunday’s games at the Magis Eagles arena in Mandaue City.
Division A defending champion, the Core Pacific Money Exchange-Batch 2000, annihilated Yangtze Cooling Ice Systems-Batch 1992, 74-48.

Batch 2003 destroys Batch 2009
Also, Division B’s reigning champs, the Cebu Landmasters-Batch 2003, routed Flashket Grocery Delivery App-Batch 2009, 97-49.
Christian Michael Tiongko paced Batch 2000 with his 14-point outing, while teammates Dave Michael Ting and Joseph Lo added 12 points each.
Batch 2000 showed why they’re the Division A champions after leading as many as 26 points, 59-33 at the start of the second half, and went on to grab a dominant win.
Former PBA cager Joel Co spoiled his double-double game of 20 points and 13 rebounds for Batch 1992. Co also had two steals and a block in his team’s losing efforts.

Tuadles top scores for 2003
In Batch 2003’s lopsided win, Rich Arnold Tuadles tallied 14 points to go with eight boards, three blocks, and two assists to lead his team in beating Batch 2009.
Daryle Tan, Wilmer Rodney Ong, and Carlo Cecil Alerta scored 14, 12, and 10 points, respectively, for the Division B defending champions.
Batch 2003 was merciless against Batch 2009 after establishing a 51-point lead, 93-42, in the final period.
Batch 2009’s Niel Benedicto had 15 points, Vincent Nino Yap with 12, and Allan James Canama with 11 points in their defeat.

Division A Games of SHAABAA
In the other Division A games, Bayfront Hotel-Batch 1990/1997 clobbered SENTRAL Bar & Lounge-Batch 2002, 89-49, behind Chad Go’s 19 markers.
Also, Speed Demon Vivant-Batch 1994/95/96 grabbed a lopsided win over Kima Glass Supply Co. Inc.-Batch 1998, 61-33.
Andrew Eraso and Junie Alejandro both scored 14 points to lead the winning squad.

Division B Games of SHAABAA
In the other Division B games, Bigatin Trading-Batch 2008 narrowly edged ’04 The Win-Batch 2004, 59-58.
Elmer Mikey Cabahug of Batch 2008 topscored the game with 22 points, along with eight rebounds, six steals, one block, and two assists.
Batch 2008 endured 14 lead changes and four deadlocks before defeating Batch 2004.
Also, Crossfit-Subtero-Batch 2006 escaped with a 65-64 win over Efficascent Boost-BRC-Batch 2010.
Mark Blanco nearly had a triple-double performance after tallying 17 markers with nine boards, eight assists, and a steal.
On the other hand, Insulare Square-Batch 2005 nipped Gateway Motors-Batch 2007, 76-54.
Elddie Cabahug unloaded 40 points to go with 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Division C Games of SHAABAA
Rendell Senining erupted for 30 points as Nest Workspaces-Batch 2013 thrashed Batch 2020, 100-61. Senining also tallied seven assists, three rebounds, and one steal.
Lastly, Harley Davidson-Batch 2014 easily won over Batch 2021, 95-52.
Gio Laguyo and Lucky Ecarma each had double-double games for Batch 2014.
Laguyo had 22 points with 11 assists, five rebounds, and three steals, while Ecarma had 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds with five assists and four steals.
