MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — Several individuals have expressed their interest to adopt Spike, the dog who was blamed for the death of his master in Talisay City.
In an advisory, Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas said Spike is now under the custody of Dr. Hope Dejadena, the OIC City Veterinarian, because of the need to place him under observation for two weeks.

Saddened by death, offers condolences to family
Gullas said that while he was saddened by the death of George Mayol, the matter was now being investigated by the police.
“It was truly unfortunate that the incident had happened. I offer my condolences to the victim’s family,” he said.
Meanwhile, pet lovers posted on social media to call on the police to dig deeper into Mayol’s death. They said that it was a very convenient excuse to immediately point a finger at Spike on the man’s death.
