CABC Boysen Cup: Nation, Knoxout, Permacoat, grab first win on Sunday’s opener

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) Boysen Cup highlighted its tip-off last Sunday with three action-packed games at the Benedicto College-Cebu City campus gymnasium.

In the first game, Nation Paint defeated Virtuoso, 86-68, behind John Therese Buhawe’s double-double game of 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and four steals.

His teammate Anthony Bajenting unloaded 25 points, while Zach Elisha Go and Ian Lapina aided them with 16 and 10 points, respectively. 

Meanwhile, in the second game of the CABC Boysen Cup, Knoxout logged their first win of the tournament by beating Titan 83-64. 

Darren Morandante exploded for 33 points with six boards, six assists, and one steal. His teammate, Duane Anino added 19 markers in their win. 

Jorance Zamora had 15 points for Titan, while Kimboy Marilao and Paolo Alberto tallied 11 points apiece, in their losing efforts. 

Lastly, Permacoat defeated Konstrukt, 76-67, with Miggy Appari leading them with his double-double game of 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.

Phillip Alegado and Ferdinand Tiro combined for 21 points for the winning squad. 

Konstrukt’s Al Marquita spoiled his 24-point outing in their loss, while Joseph Cabigas had 17 and Dexsel Caadan scored 12.
