Pagasa: Rain showers on Tuesday in parts of Luzon; fair weather in VisMin

MANILA, Philippines — The shear line will bring rain showers to parts of eastern Luzon on Tuesday, Oct. 24, while the northeast monsoon is expected to cool Northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Bukas magdala pa rin ng payong sa ka-Bikulan, Quezon province at Aurora dahil asahan pa rin po ang epekto ng shearline kaya mag ingat pa rin po sa pagbaha o sa pagguho ng lupa lalo na sa umaga,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja.

(Rain is expected in the Bicol region, Quezon province and Aurora because the effect of the shearline is still expected, so watch out for floods and landslides, especially in the morning.

“Pagsapit ng tanghali hanggang hapon mababawasan ang pag ulan sa southern Quezon and Bicol region at magco-concentrate ang pag ulan over northern Quezon at malaking bahagi ng Aurora,” he added.

(By noon to afternoon, the rainfall will decrease in southern Quezon and Bicol region and the rain will concentrate over northern Quezon and large parts of Aurora.)

Meanwhile, relatively cool temperature will prevail over Northern Luzon, particularly in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Benguet, Abra and Ilocos region due the effects of the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

Fair weather

The rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with generally fair weather, on the other hand, will prevail in the Visayas, with scattered rain showers in Northern and Eastern Samar.

Fair weather will likewise prevail in Mindanao, with relatively hot temperature and chances of localized thunderstorms.
