CEBU CITY, Philippines—- Over a hundred teams will start competing in the 6th SHS-AdC Magis Eagles Football Cup, which unfolds tomorrow, February 3, at the SHS-AdC Julian Hernando Athletics Field in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

According to SHS-AdC athletic director Jon Ralph Christopher Jiao Inot, they have already gathered over 100 teams that have enlisted to join the tournament, running until March 2.

“We are over 100 teams already in terms of registration. The tournament manager already closed the registration since it already exceeded the target number of participating teams,” said Inot.

The tournament is returning after a four-year hiatus. It was halted during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Only in 2024, SHS-AdC, led by its athletic department and passionate football parents, decided to resume it.

The festival-type tournament has attracted teams such as the ERCO Football Club, Cebu United FC, Barili Wabaks, University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu, Cebu Technological University (CTU), Fatboyz, Queen City United, Lapu-Lapu CF, Cebu Elite, Concentrix, Real Galaxy FC, City of Naga, Guiseppe FC, Warshockz, and many more.

These football clubs will field teams to compete in the 15 age groups featured in the tournament.

The age groups include mix-U6, mix-U8, mix-U10, U12 boys, U14 boys, U16 boys, U16 girls, U18 boys, U19 boys, men’s open, men’s 38-A, inter-company, men’s 48 above, ladies open, and soccer mom categories.

Meanwhile, the 11-aside format age categories are mix-U12 and U18 boys.

Also, the SHS-ADC Magis Eagles football team will have their own line-ups to compete in different age groups.

One of the tournament’s main objectives is to provide the local football community with a top-notch and long-running football tournament.
