Police identified yesterday the three men who comprise the so-called “Laglag Barya gang” who were filmed by a jeepney passenger’s cell phone stealing a female passenger’s bag.

Chief Insp. David Señor, chief of the Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) of Cebu City Police Office said those men were members of an organized group from Mindanao who were arrested for robbery but posted bail.

The perpetrators identified were Roel Gaban who was seen intentionally dropping the coins to distract the female jeepney passenger and Isidro Dabudo, who was identified immediately by his large build and acted as the lookout.

Dabudo rode beside the jeepney’s passenger entrance. The man seen next to the female passenger who stole the items and hid them from view with a black backpack is Apolonio Tolibas, also known as “Botchoy.”

The video was posted on Facebook last June 12 and went viral among Netizens.

Señor said the video uploaded online by a hotel chef using the name of Astig Tao, was helpful in identifying the perpetrators.
