Mandaue City employees to receive anniversary bonus

46TH MANDAUE CHARTER DAY

The Mandaue City government employees will get an anniversary bonus to mark the 46th Charter Day of the city when the City Council will pass the proposed cash incentive ordinance.

The proposed ordinance has already passed first reading, said City Councilor Diosdado “Dadi” Suico.

In the proposed ordinance, regular employees and elected officials will receive P10,000 while the job order employees will receive P6,000. The members of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM), Clean and Green workers and the barangay health workers will receive P4,000.

The “anniversary bonus” will be given once there will also be a budget allocated for it, said Suico.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, before the anniversary celebration yesterday, told Cebu Daily News that he hopes his constituents will continue the accomplishments he had done for the city.

“Now that we have accomplished things, I hope that we will continue doing the right things. We have this moral obligation to continue just as how we received it from our ancestors who strove hard to achieve what we have now.

This becomes our responsibility now: to give a good future to the future generations,” he said in Cebuano.

“We made the change especially in gaining back the confidence of the people, the businessmen in Mandaue City, and we have accomplished these things with the efforts of our colleagues. It was a team effort,” Cortes said in Cebuano.

The mayor cited a few accomplishments of his administration, including #iammandaue project, increased senior citizens allowance, higher revenues, and more infrastructure which are indicators that the city is moving to greater heights.
